Overview of Itinerary for the Hatun Karpay

The HATUN KARPAY or Great Initiation of the Inka, is a ten-day journey into the heart of the sacred geography of the ancient Inka Empire. It consists of 10-12 hours of ceremony each day, designed to bring you into harmonic resonance with the forces of Nature through sacred exchange, or "ayni" with Inka power places. We give and receive, collaborating with the Kausay Pacha, or 'world of living energies' to make our epic step into the Fourth Level of spiritual development, and to become candidates to the Fifth level, thereby becoming active participants in the Inka Prophecy.

A more detailed itinerary will be sent to you upon registration. Here is a sample of what we will be doing on this trip.

Day 0: 08/19/22 You will depart from your city of origin, checking your bags all the way through to Lima.

Day 1: 08/20/22 EARLY a.m. flight from Lima to Cuzco, arriving in Cuzco by 9am latest on August 20th. We will meet you at the airport and you will be taken directly to the Royal Inka Hotel in Pisaq. After a day of rest and acclimation, we will meet in the late afternoon for orientation and introductions. You will be given the foundational understanding for this magical and authentic initiatory experience that begins on the following day.

SPECIAL NOTE: In May of 2014 Mama Simona--the ONLY female Apu in the 12 Sacred Mountain system of Cuzco--opened her Mesa (altar). Ever since, we begin our trip with a journey to Mama Simona Mountain to work with this major female apu (mountain spirit) whose job is to connect and integrate all twelve Apus in the Sacred Apu System of the Sun Valley, Cuzco. This additional day that begins our experience offers a unique chance to work directly with female Q’ero Paqos, experiencing a traditional haywaricuy (despacho) ceremony and receiving their unique and powerful transmissions.

Day 2: Sacred Pilgrimage to Mama Simona Mountain with our special group of Ñust’a Paqos. We will hike to the top and make ceremony to Miskayani (the Q’ero mystical city of Feminine power), and then hike to the Teqse Qocha at Mama Simona’s Altar to receive powerful initiations from the Ñust’a Paqos.

Day 3: We will engage in a day-long ritual at sacred sites in the city of Cuzco to activate our Inka or Qoya seed deep inside, which begins the process of spiritual growth Inka style at Wakarpay Lake.

Day 4: We travel through the sacred site of Pisaq, and Ollantaytambo to engage in the ceremony of germination, working with the energies of all of the elements to feed and nourish our Inka seed.

Day 5: We get up early for the breathtaking train ride to Machu Pikchu. After lunch in Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Pikchu, we take the bus up to the ruins to begin our day of flowering ritual.

Day 6: We return to Machu Pikchu to engage in a day of hearty hiking, climbing down the subtropical jungle behind Wayna Pikchu to enter the cave of the Ñust’as (Healing forces of Nature) and Pachamama and after, to the Ukhu Pacha (underworld) cave connecting to the energies of the unconscious.

Day 7: We take an early train to Ollyantaytambo and head to the magnificent site of MORAY where we can interact with the Apus. Here we ritually shed our feminine side and take on new, clean, fresh and pure masculine energy from the surrounding Apus, mobilizing our dynamic power!

Day 8: This morning we meet the Urubamba (her ancient name is Willkanust’a) river to meet and work with the amazing spirit of this river, who connects all the ritual sites of the Andean area – from Cuzco to Machu Pikchu to the Wiraqocha Temple. We take an early bus home and have the afternoon free to visit the Hatun Q’eros Cultural Center.

Day 9: In Cuzco we explore the famous Qorikancha – meaning Golden Field – the central Sun Temple of the Inkas. This is the spiritual center of Cuzco and the place where the Inkas honored the diverse religions of all 52 ethnic groups that made up the Inka Empire. We also travel to another temple site in Cuzco for a life after life ritual. We complete the day by meeting with paqos from Q’eros. They will have their fabulous weavings available to buy.

Day 10: We travel to nearby Tipon, a sacred water temple, with our Ñust’a paqos who will join us for this ritual. Here we contact the Ñust’as or female spirits of the water – the young girl, the young woman, the mature woman, and the grandmother. We perform a k’intu and despacho ceremony with the Ñust’a Paqos. heading back to Cusco, we have a free afternoon for shopping and/or individual coca leaf readings. (When possible)

Day 11: Finally, We travel with the Q’ero to the Wiraqocha temple to perform our culminating Coronation Ritual of the Inkas, linking ourselves with the ancient  lineages called “Panakas” or royal families of the Inkas. This is the most awe-inspiring of all the rituals. After this crowning ritual we celebrate with a farewell dinner at one of Cuzco’s finest restaurants.

Day 12: August 31, 2022 Schedule your flight to leave anytime after 10 AM. Fly out from Cuzco to Lima, and then on to your home city/town.

WIRAQOCHA FOUNDATION HISTORY

In 1990 Elizabeth began taking 3-6 groups per year to Peru to undergo the Hatun Qarpay or Grand/Great Initiation with Juan Nunez del Prado, her first teacher of these Andean ways. 30 years of experience has produced the trip you are embarking upon today!

In 1997, when Elizabeth wrote her book Return of the Inca (Initiation), which chronicles her in initial journeys in Peru, through meeting her teacher Juan and completing her first Hatun Qarpay with Juan, she gave 20% of her advance to start to the Wiraqocha Foundation, and it has been going ever since. (If you haven’t read this book, please do! It’s a great idea to read before the trip! https://www.elizabethbjenkins.com/media. You can also find free downloads for Nature Nectar practices here.)

The Wiraqocha Foundation sponsored the first trip of a Q’ero paqo, don Manuel Q’espi, out of Peru. He traveled to Brazil in May of 1996 to keynote the Association of Transpersonal Psychology Conference. Then in September of 1996 with help from the Michael Harner Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and the  Angie Arrien Foundation, as well as a private donation from Carol Adrienne, Wiraqocha Foundation brought the Q’ero to the US For the First time ever to teach in California, on the very first Wiraqocha Foundation Teaching Tour.

By the end of 1999, after two more years of running Initiation Trips to Peru and gathering funds, Wiraqocha Foundation was prepared to donate over $5,000 to fund two medical teams to Q’eros to study the needs of the people and to administer to them with medicines donated by Mistic Inka Trail.  And finally, with studies showing that a clean water system was one of the biggest health concerns in Q’eros,  Wiraqocha Foundation was in a position to donate over $28,000 to Living Bridges Foundation to fund phase two of the local MUJU project for CLEAN WATER IN Q’EROS.

In 2003 Elizabeth started leading trips on her own and began funding the Q’ero Kids Education Projects to help Q’ero Kids learn English and be able to translate accurately for their Paqo Parents. After hosting the World Paqo Conference in Hawaii in 2010 and leading Discovery Channel to film never-before-seen rituals on Wamanlipa Mountain in Q’ero, Elizabeth brought four Q’ero Kids to live and study in Hawaii, exchanging cultures with Native Hawaiian and local Island Kids. In 2013 WF sponsored the participation of the Q’ero in the first WIPCE (World Indigenous People’s Conference on Education) conference held in Cuzco. We proudly sponsored the ONLY seminar held in the Native tongue of Qosqo, Runa Simi, Quechua.

In 2014 WF became the fiscal agent for Willka Yachay, the only organization to successfully create authentic enduring schools in the Q’ero Communities.

In 2019 WF ran its first Women’s Clinics in Cuzco, for the Q’ero Community that now lives primarily in Cuzco. Wiraqocha Foundation has no paid staff. Elizabeth Jenkins, Founder/Director, has been its volunteer director since 1996. All programs are paid for through Wiraqocha Foundation Programs, seminars, and Peru Trips.

THE INKA PROPHECIES AND HOW YOU FIT IN!

When you participate in a Wiraqocha Foundation trip like the Hatun Qarpay, you are helping us, and nature herself, to move along helping to accomplish the INKA PROPHECIES. Prophecies are not PREDICTIONS of what WILL happen, but probabilities of what COULD happen if EVERYONE participates. You will be an essential part of bringing living prophecy into being by participating in this trip! Additionally $700 of your tuition for the trip goes directly to the Wiraqocha Foundation to support the current projects that are being funded.

MEETING WITH THE Q’ERO Ñust’a Paqos:  because we give a lot to the Q’eros, we receive a lot from them. We have arranged a special meeting with Q’ero priestesses for our group and a POSSIBLE opportunity to receive individual coca leaf readings (Andean divination tool) from a Q’ero coca leaf reader (ask Elizabeth).  A team of Q’eros will join us for 5 entire days of ritual.
